About Us

Founder of Cerulean Chemistry Standing in a filed wearing a white dress.McCall:

I’m a cosmetic chemist and co-founder of Cerulean Chemistry, a contract formulation studio dedicated to helping brands create custom skincare and personal care products they can be proud of. Over the last eight years, I’ve taken dozens of ideas from rough concept to finished formulas, developing everything from toothpastes and deodorants to lip balms, shampoos, lotions, and over-the-counter products that are stable, effective, and ready to scale.

My background is in biochemistry (B.S., Brigham Young University), where I worked in research labs and co-authored peer-reviewed work, giving me a strong scientific foundation for understanding ingredients, skin biology, and product safety. I spent five years in a leading product development lab, first as a formulation chemist and then as R&D Lab Manager, where I trained chemists, ran stability programs, and worked closely with manufacturing to make sure formulas scale smoothly from the beaker to full production.

Today, I use that experience to guide founders and established brands through every step of the custom product process—ideation, prototyping, refinement, stability, and handoff to manufacturing—so you don’t have to guess or “figure it out” alone. Whether you’re looking to create something completely new or reverse engineer and improve an existing product, my focus is on clear communication, realistic timelines, and formulas that perform the way your customers expect. My goal is to give you peace of mind knowing that your project is in expert hands, with a partner who understands both the science behind your product and the practical realities of bringing it successfully to market.

Glen:

I’m a business strategist and co-founder at Cerulean Chemistry, where I focus on making sure great cosmetic and skincare ideas also make great business sense. With a Master’s in Accounting from BYU’s Marriott School of Business and years of experience consulting for high-growth companies, I understand the financial, operational, and strategic pressures that come with building a successful brand.

Before Cerulean Chemistry, I founded and scaled a boutique consulting firm that helped clients modernize systems, automate workflows, and improve profitability—ultimately building it into a business that was valuable enough to sell. I’ve since worked with founders, executives, and finance teams at Connor Group, leading projects across financial operations, digital solutions, managed services, and strategic innovation, often stepping into messy, undefined situations and turning them into clear, executable plans.

At Cerulean, that same mindset guides how I support our clients—from pricing and margin considerations to production planning, forecasting, and operations. My role is to help our clients have an exceptional experience creating the product of their dreams while keeping in mind the reality and expectations timelines, finances, and overall business considerations.
